"If you want to succeed in life, learn from those around you who have made a success of their own lives."

As we were growing up, this message was preached to us over and over again. How very true those words were and still are today!

Why not make achieving a designation a little easier to bear and conquer?!

Why go through the trial and error of learning the same lessons and going through the same struggles, when you can gain the knowledge and direction from someone else’s experience. Time is short and mistakes do not have to be repeated. Through Mentoring, valuable lessons, knowledge, attitudes, and recognition of opportunities are passed on. Over the years, various studies have proven that Mentoring, in any shape or form, has been consistently linked with academic and professional achievement.

"Mentoring is a confidential, one-to-one relationship in which an individual uses a more experienced person as a sounding board and for guidance. It is a protected, non-judgmental relationship which facilitates a wide range of learning and development." (Industrial Society 1995)

"Mentoring involves primarily listening with empathy, sharing experience and learning (usually mutually), professional friendship, developing insight through reflection, being a sounding board, and the offering and receiving of encouragement." (Gardiner 1998)
