flmi keyProgram Summary

The Mentor Program is open to all LOMA designees interested in participating.

The Mentor Program encourages LOMA designees to offer support to students for the duration of their study. This relationship is formalized through the signing of an agreement form by the student and mentor which is sent to the LOMA Society and recorded. Each year, until the student completes the designation, the mentor and student are asked to renew their relationship by signing and submitting a renewal form and sending it to the society. If a renewal form is NOT submitted, it is assumed that the relationship is terminated until the form is received.

After the student successfully completes each course, a congratulatory letter may be sent to the student's AND mentor's supervisor. The mentor and student could be recognized at a Mentor/Student Banquet. Upon achieving the FLMI designation, both the student and the mentor may be recognized at the Fall Banquet. Increasing levels of recognition may be provided to the mentor as the number of students they have mentored to achievement increases.

Mentor-student relationships will be created at the initiative of existing LOMA designees. Upon request, LOMA may be able to provide students information to help match mentors with students, but LOMA will not store information of people interested in the program.

Mentors OR students who contact LOMA interested in obtaining a mentor/student will be referred to their LOMA Society or company Educational Representative. Upon request, LOMA can provide a list of LOMA designees and/or students affiliated with a specific company.
